About Mrs Elizabeth Osinsanya
Dr (Mrs) Elizabeth Osinsanya OON, JP, the Proprietress and Chief Executive Officer (C.E.0) Elegant Twins Institute of Cosmetology), was born on the 2nd of September 1933 to Mr. P.A. Okubadejo of Ijebu Ode) and Princess Alake of the Kosoko Royal Family of Lagos (both of blessed memory).
Early Age
Mrs. Elizabeth Osinsanya had her education in Methodist school ljebu Ode, St. John Anglican School, Aroloya, Lagos, Girls Modern Academy also in Lagos and Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesha in the present Osun state. Mrs. Osinsanya showed traits of a hairdresser from a very early age. Her father saw this and decided to encourage her develop it, though young Elizabeth, had her eye on Nursing.
Training
She work as a salon assistant (hairdresser) at the now defunct Kingsway Stores Lagos, between 1953 and 1957 before proceeding abroad for a formal academic course in the profession. She graduated from the famous Morris School of Hairdressing, London with a Diploma in 1958.
Achievement
Since the establishment of Elegant Twins in 1959, Dr (Mrs) Elizabeth Osinsanya OON, JP remains the reference point for both National and International Cosmetics manufacturers in the beauty profession. Some of her professional memberships and Awards include:
In 1978 she founded the Nigeria Association of Hairdressers, Barbers and Cosmetologists (NASHCO)
Member (the only one in Nigeria) of the World Federation of Supreme Hairdressing Schools.
Diploma for Efficiency in hair Technique in France in 1977.
Winner (1990) International Award Grand Prix Oscar for Enterprises in Spain.
Participant Black Festival of Arts & Culture tagged Festac
Member of Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Member of panels that designed Cosmetology syllabus for National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in Kaduna and National Business and Technical Education Board (NABTEB) in Benin.
